How much does it cost?
Zero. There is no cost to join the program. Community solar programs are designed to incentivize citizens like yourself to participate in promoting clean energy solutions, and therefore, it’s important that there is zero risk and zero cost to participate.
How much will I save?
Customers will save 5-15% or more on the portion of their electric bill that is offset by your solar system. In other words, if your system produces $100 in electric credits and you have a 10% discount, you will only owe $90 for that portion of your bill ($100 – 10%). Your bill would be $10 less than you would have paid previous to joining the program.
How does RooflessSolar™ work?
A RooflessSolar™ (Community Solar) farm within your utility’s service territory will produce and transmit clean power to your local electric grid. You, as a participant in the program, receive credit on your electric bill for the power produced by your
system (solar panels) located within the solar farm.
Do I have to maintain anything?
No. You are participating in a community solar farm that is maintained by a company specializing in solar technology. We take care of everything while you reap the benefits without any of the costs or hassle of traditional rooftop solar systems.

Can I cancel?
You sure can! If you’re moving outside of the utility service area or don’t love free money, please send us a quick note 90-days ahead of your final termination date to customerservice@communitysolarplatform.com. Please note if you’re moving to a new home or business within the same utility service area you can keep saving and move your credits with you. Just let us know!
What's the catch?
There isn’t one! All you have to do is subscribe, then sit back and enjoy the savings. Keep hundreds of dollars in your pocket each year to spend how you want! We guarantee that you will save money. What is dual billing?
Rest assured – RooflessSolar is totally free! As a subscriber to community solar in some states (like New York), you will only receive one bill from the utility, whereas in other states (like Massachusetts), you will receive your electric costs via two invoices instead of one. You’ll receive your standard utility bill less your new on-bill solar credits (significantly reducing your utility bill). Then a RooflessSolar™ invoice for 90% (if 10% savings program) of the applied on-bill solar credit, leaving you with your guaranteed 10% savings.
How is RooflessSolar™ different than rooftop solar?
It's out of sight and out of mind! Many homes and businesses are not ideal for the installation of traditional rooftop solar for reasons including shading limitations, shared rooftop ownership, structural issues, accessibility for maintenance, HOA limitations, or just don’t want the expensive cost, to name a few. Because RooflessSolar is not located on your property, any electric customer – even renters - can participate. RooflessSolar is ideally sited and oriented towards the sun, ensuring optimal solar production with commercial grade equipment.
What are the environmental benefits of solar energy?
Solar power, like other renewable energy resources, has many environmental and health benefits. Going solar reduces greenhouse gas emissions, which contribute to climate change, and also results in fewer air pollutants like sulfur dioxide and particulate matter, which can cause health problems.

How Long Before I Notice the Change in My Power Bills?
Once the solar field is connected to the utility’s electric grid, you will start to accrue solar credits. From the date of connection you can expect your first on-bill solar credit within approximately 2 months, then each month after for up to 20 years. Ask your sales rep for more information regarding the timing of the project you are in.
Do I need to own a home or building to participate?
No! This is one of the many benefits of participating in RooflessSolar. Anyone with an electric bill is eligible to participate, including homeowners, renters and companies.
What if I have a different power provider, separate from my utility, can I still save money with RooflessSolar™?
Yes! RooflessSolar and our community solar bill credits work with all power providers. Your power provider won’t change, just sign up and watch the saving roll in!
